What we don't know
The open questions behind the verdicts on this site, stated plainly rather than filled with plausible-sounding answers.
Most longevity content is confident. That confidence is usually inversely related to how much is actually known. This page keeps the gaps visible.
For whole-body screening
How would a finding change care? What follow-up would be needed? What does a negative result leave uncertain? The review of whole-body MRI sets out the limits of its cited evidence. This site does not claim to settle every screening question.
For the category generally
- Do biomarker improvements translate into outcomes? Many interventions move a number. Far fewer have been shown to change how long people live or how well they function.
- Do effects observed in one population generalise? Trials in specific age groups, risk profiles and healthcare systems do not automatically transfer.
- What is the long-term harm profile? Interventions taken for decades need decades of safety data. For newer therapies, that data does not exist yet, and its absence is not evidence of safety.
How we treat these gaps
We do not fill them with plausible speculation, and we do not downgrade a claim from insufficient to mixed because the idea behind it is attractive. Where a gap is the whole story, that is the verdict.
